President’s Letter
My year as President is drawing to a close and
I feel so grateful to have had such a wonderful
experience. The officers, board members and
committee members I’ve worked with have
shown a lot of dedication to our organization.
That made my job so much easier. I would
encourage everyone to become more involved
in the committee work of Caucus. This is where
the gears start to turn in a way that makes us
successful. If we are to continue to help more
women get elected and appointed to office we
will need more dedicated workers to carry on.
Thank you to everyone. Onward and upward!
Glenda Pray, President

Endorsement Policy Adopted
The NWPC-SD board of directors has approved an endorsement
policy that meets the criteria of our national organization. The policy
states that eligible candidates must be women running for office in
the following races: Sioux Falls School Board elections, Sioux Falls
Municipal elections, Minnehaha County elections Statewide
Constitutional office elections and State Legislative elections in
districts that fall in Minnehaha County.
They must support NWPC-SD goals and purposes and these specific
issues:
• Support passage of a federal Equal Rights Amendment;
• Support a woman’s right to choose an abortion;
• Support public policies that guarantee equal access to
abortion and reproductive health services; and
• Support increased access to child care and other
dependent care programs.
Candidates must have a past record indicating support for NWPC-SD
goals, purposes and bottom line issues if she has held other elective
offices. In addition they must be someone whom NWPC-SD would
support regardless of the office sought.
Once a candidate is endorsed to our membership they can receive
hands-on assistance from our members such as help with mailings, lit
drops, yard sign distribution and/or volunteering for campaign teams.
