The Mission of National Women's
Political Caucus - South Dakota
To increase the number of women who support the purposes of the NWPC-SD in elective and appointive office
To increase the participation of women who support the purpose of the NWPC-SD in the political process
To promote equal opportunities for participation by women in elected and policy-making positions
To work to ensure women's reproductive health, rights and justice
To seek enactment and enforcement of legislation prohibiting discrimination
To network with other agencies to form positions on current issues that affect women and to exert political influence in support of these positions

To fullfill their mission NWPC-SD members volunteer in 6 areas:
Affirmative Action - Seek a balanced membership with a commitment to full participation by women (persons) of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, ecomonic strata, political affiliations, ages, sexual orientation, gender identity or disabilities through community outreach
Candidate Recruitment and Support - Identify, recruit, train and support women candidates, who support the goals of NWPC-SD, for elected and appointed office, from the local to the national level
Communications - Inform the membership and the general public of the activities of NWPC-SD
Legislation and Issues - Keep board of directors and general membership informed of legislation and issues of concern to NWPC-SD
Membership - Recruit new members and work to retain and integrate current members
Programs and Education - Educate NWPC-SD members on topics of interest through programming at general membership meetings and/or e-newsletter articles
