Purposes of NWPC-SD
- To increase the number of women who support the purposes of the NWPC-SD in elective and appointive office
- To increase the participation of women who support the purposes of the NWPC-SD in the political process
- To promote equal opportunities for participation by women in elected and policy making positions
- To work to ensure women’s reproductive health, rights and justice
- To seek enactment and enforcement of legislation prohibiting discrimination
- To network with other agencies to form positions on current issues that affect women and to exert political influence in support of these positions.

Mandatory Waiting Periods for Abortions
The NWPC supports a woman’s access to abortions without unnecessary hassle and delay.
Sex Education
The NWPC supports comprehensive sex education that allows youth to know all of their options and make informed decisions.
International Human Rights for Women
The NWPC supports human rights for all women across the globe, so that women may live in a free society.
RU486
The NWPC supports availability of RU486 and emergency contraception. The NWPC does not support pharmacists who determine who can and cannot receive them.

Long term Care Insurance
The NWPC supports long-term care insurance for women.
Equality of Insurance Benefits
The NWPC supports mandatory coverage of family planning, including contraceptive drugs and devices.
